In my first book Learners Success Guide in the 21st Century, I have written the following nugget.
“Many a times we dwell on our past failures. We live a life of self-condemnation and lack of forgiveness. Basically, we struggle on what we did not do right. Some of us blame others for the misfortunes in our lives. We dwell on what passed and cling to what we cannot change. We forget that by dwelling on the past we kill the morale of doing something for tomorrow. We also give excuses as to why the situation we are in, is the way it is. We scheme to live in that state. We lose hope of getting to our dreams and give the reasons as to why it is impossible to reach to those destinies.
Many a people have strength and potential that is not yet tapped. They have allowed the environment they are in to shape their future for worse. Their belief has destroyed the inner strength to catapult them to their destiny. They know beyond any reasonable doubts that they do not belong to where they are, but they are unable to come out of this state.
Kimani Ng’ang’a Maruge (a Kenyan), who enrolled in Kapkenduywo Primary School at 84 years old, was the oldest man in World to attend primary school. At the time of his enrollment, the Guinness Book of World Records listed him as being the oldest person in the world to start primary school education.
Despite the fact that the old man pegged out a few years later, this is one person, whose determination is a great inspiration. He is also an encouragement to many. Regardless of the laughter and criticism, he rose above the odds and went to school. Do you know the reason why? He wanted to know about the world and read the Bible. The inner self of any man yearns for knowledge that is the reason to why we are always eager to learn new things. Did you know every time a person starts speaking something you are not aware of even if it seems barbaric, your ears tickle with anxiety to know?
The anxiety to learn is always there but the greatest obstacle is the questions we allow ourselves to ask, such as, my family has never gone beyond the handle I want to jump. Why should I keep on trying what I am unable to accomplish? Why waste my time and I shall never total to anything? All the negatives about how you cannot: fill your thoughts and suppress the better you. You quench up the struggle for knowledge.
Many people who failed at first finally became very successful because they did not allow how they felt to deter them from attaining their dreams. They did not stop fighting until they got what they wanted. Some were told directly that they equaled to nothing. Some of them were fired from their career jobs for their bosses thought of them as unqualified. Whenever you allow people to hold back your destiny, then you are doomed to fail in life and live a frustrated life. Some of them could not read; they were said to be stupid; but they kept on the struggle for search for knowledge. They eventually got what they wanted and today they are celebrated.
Recently, in our universities, jails and many other learning institutions, many old folks have gone back to school. They are answering the call of search for knowledge. Who are you then? Why are you fighting the better you. Your best days are not behind you but ahead of you. You can still do what you have not done before. Your failure should not be a permanent condition. Most of the scholars who have studied Science take Einstein’s name synonymous with genius, but he did not always show such promise.
Einstein did not speak until he was four and did not read until he was seven, causing his teachers and parents to thought he was mentally handicapped, slow and anti-social. Eventually, he was expelled from school and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. It might have taken him a bit longer, but most people would agree that he caught up with studies pretty well in the end and later the Nobel Prize winner hence changing the face of modern Physics. Albert Einstein was one of the most brilliant scientists and thinkers of the 20th century….” Derived from Learners Success Guide in the 21st Century by Harun B. Mbijiwe.
The conclusion of the matter is, any time you follow your heart in making decisions, you realize peace and tranquility in your life. It’s only in your heart that you can see things rightly. Many a times I have made a mistake of not following my inner heart and I end up miserable in my decisions. I remember the night I made a decision to start this blog, I did a lot of research on which host to use. After I settled for the True Host web-hosting cloud, my heart was at peace and all through I have come to love this website domain host. It has been easy for me to do my blog even with little experience on website and website hosting. I have accomplished something that I have thought of for a long time. To have my blog!
Therefore, I beseech you, never jump to conclusion because someone advice or you have heard it said or you think so. Make a decision to follow your heart and you shall end up a very successful person in life. Let your inner person speak!
